    What is the Project Description?

    • The project description is a critical part of the proposal document, serving to persuade expert reviewers and the NSF SBIR/STTR Program Director that the proposed R&D project meets NSF's standards for intellectual merit, broader impacts, and commercial opportunity as outlined in Section II of the solicitation. Provide evidence of the project's innovation and high technical risk, along with a plausible plan to establish technical feasibility during Phase I.
    • Here, your goal is to demonstrate that the company and project team possess the necessary expertise, resources, and support to successfully execute the project and are committed to developing a viable business around the product or service being developed.
    • Present a compelling case for how the project will significantly advance the technology's readiness and strengthen its commercial position.
